Online Learning Information

Lake Erie Christian Academy Virtual Platform (LECA VP) constitutes a segment of the Lake Erie Christian Academy Intranet. It serves as the repository for the online learning management system, delivering digital learning experiences across a range of courses and programs at LECA.

Our online and hybrid courses are optimized for viewing on web browsers such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, and Firefox, versioned at or above their respective minimum requirements. These courses are compatible with operating systems including Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X 10.6 or newer. Access to broadband or wireless connection (DSL, cable, or faster) is essential for smooth navigation and interaction within these courses.

Verification of Identity in Online Learning

Upon acceptance into their academic program, all students are provided with a unique login and password for access to the online portal. It is mandatory for students to enroll in the password portal and modify their password within a specified timeframe. This login credential is then utilized to enter their online course(s) through LECA virtual platform. Upon enrollment and participation in any online course, adherence to academic integrity is expected from all students, as outlined in the Lake Erie Christian Academy school catalogs.

Faculty teaching online courses employ a variety of methods, including collaboration, group assignments, personalized tasks, and discussions, as well as conducting online class meetings through platforms like Zoom or Google Meet. Additionally, they offer virtual office hours and utilize various communication channels to interact with students. These methods collectively offer faculty numerous opportunities to understand their students' abilities, work, academic tendencies, and modes of expression.

Certification for Online Faculty

Prior to commencing their online courses, all online faculty members are required to complete FT-101-Orientation and Training for Online Faculty on LECA VP (virtual platform). This training encompasses information on online policies and procedures, evaluation of online courses, and a framework for ensuring academic rigor that aligns with the standards set by the U.S. Department of Education.
